Abstract
Recent advancements in digital technologies have significantly reshaped operational technology (which consists of the hardware and software that monitor and control industrial assets and processes). The increased connectivity of these devices introduces cybersecurity risks that were once unheard of. Much like in the IT domain, ensuring robust cybersecurity in operational technology goes beyond technical solutions—it also hinges on specific organizational factors. Drawing on insights from 36 leaders across 14 global corporations, we identify critical gaps in these areas and provide recommendations to bridge them.
