Abstract
This article presents the findings of the Society for Information Management's 38th Anniversary IT Trends Study, with responses from IT executives in 769 organizations. Positive trends endure, with IT budgets, salaries, hiring, CIO job tenure and CIOs' time spent with their C-suite peers all up. The most prevalent large new IT investment is Business Analytics, followed by Security, Cloud, Software Development and ERP. CIOs' most "worrisome" IT management issues are Cybersecurity, IT Credibility and Leadership, IT Talent Shortage, Business-IT Alignment, and Compliance and Regulation.
