Abstract

Captive centers are wholly owned near-shore or offshore subsidiaries that provide IT, business process and R&D services to their parent firms. We examine the strategic role that captive centers play in supporting the parent's global sourcing strategy and evolutionary paths to hybrid, shared, and divested models. Case examples and guidelines for meeting the challenges for each evolutionary stage are provided.Click here for free 2-page executive summary (pdf)
