EFFECTS OF ICT FASHIONS ON NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY POLICY
Abstract
This work in progress paper suggests applying management fashion theory to better understand some of the unintended consequences of educational ICT policy committees. It presents findings on thirty years of the work of these committees in Israel. It shows that some of the unexpected findings could be a consequence of two categories of management fashions: IS artifact related fashions, and educational technology theory related fashions. The paper discusses the limitations of the present research, and describes the research plans forward.
