Abstract

Currently in digital transformation, organizations face the challenge of training employees in increasingly complex, dynamic, and technological. Gamification and artificial intelligence (AI) have emerged as innovative approaches to promote motivation, personalization of training experiences and meaningful learning by providing adaptive challenges, real-time feedback, and opportunities for error-based exploration that strengthen knowledge retention and critical thinking skills. This review article analyzes the conceptual and empirical evolution of gamification as a complement to AI-assisted learning processes in organizational training, specifically in systems engineering applications. An exploratory structural review was conducted using literature indexed in Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar, prioritizing Q1 and Q2 journals and studies published between 2013 and 2024. The analysis integrates key definitions, theoretical foundations, applied methodologies, and findings on the impact of AI- supported gamification. The results identify consistent improvements in knowledge retention, development of social and digital skills, and greater accuracy in decision-making in simulated contexts. In systems engineering, notable practices include the use of serious games, simulators, and intelligent gamified platforms. Overall, the convergence of gamification and AI represents a powerful approach to transforming organizational training, particularly in technical do- mains such as engineering. Future progress requires the development of hybrid models that integrate learning theories, user-centered design, and intelligent adaptive capabilities.
