Abstract
This article analyzes Smart Campus experiences in Brazil, aiming to understand their trajectory, key characteristics, and future perspectives. An exploratory approach is adopted, based on a literature review and institutional data collection. Ten initiatives developed by public and private universities were analyzed, either explicitly using the term or aligning with principles such as digital transformation, sustainability, sensing, systems integration, participatory governance, and strategic data use. The results identify projects with a technical-operational focus, distributed across different levels of digital maturity. Despite the absence of coordinated national policies, there is a growing appropriation of the concept within Brazilian higher education institutions. The main contribution of the study lies in the systematization of mapped initiatives and the identification of recurring institutional patterns.
