Abstract

Artificial Intelligence is widely used in many sectors, including education. However, the use of ChatGPT in education generates discussions about its impacts on skills acquisition and the future of society. This study aims to analyze society's perception of the use of ChatGPT in education. Through a survey, the study investigates beliefs, motivators and practical application, with data being analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. Results show that ChatGPT has potential, however, most participants believe that people are not prepared to use it and that its use requires a broad reflection on the teaching structure. It is necessary to avoid dependence on ChatGPT, ensuring its use as a complementary tool. Responsible and ethical use implies considering its limitations, ensuring the quality of teaching and being aware of privacy issues and information manipulation.
