Abstract

The paper presents Visualization of Information techniques over an open access database of the Municipal Police System of Curitiba city, Paraná State, Brazil. The research methodology is descriptive, where the chosen database is presented, its respective formats, its properties and the visualizations of information generated from it. The time interval of the database ranges from January 2009 to March 2022. Microsoft Excel software was used for data processing and Microsoft Power BI software was used for the development of dashboards. The main objective was to make use of the data to create visualizations capable of generating ideas for public policy improvements. Seven panels were generated, divided according to the theme, going from the most general level to more specific subjects (such as the occurrences of domestic violence). As a result, it was possible to generate information for support decision-making and improvement of public policies.
