Abstract
By 2050, two thirds of the world's population will be urbanized and the population growth rate of a city will be 3 to 5% per year, causing waste to double in a decade and waste management an increasing challenge. In this context, a model of critical factors for the adoption of Smart Waste Management in a developing city in Latin America is proposed, which allows identifying those factors that positively impact the adoption of a Smart Waste Management solution. From the research, a model based on dimensions was proposed that were validated through an expert assessment, this confirming the critical factors.
