Description

The Covid-19 pandemic has shocked the world and caused disruptions in social and business life. The pandemic has highlighted the need to create a better understanding of resilience, which refers to the capacity to tolerate existential threats, while maintaining core attributes and continuing to learn, adapt and develop responses to change. In particular, we need an understanding of how digital resilience enables individuals, organizations and societies to respond to threats such as the pandemic. This panel aims to create a conversation with the broader Information Systems community to: (1) Create a deeper understanding of the concept of digital resilience in the face of existential threats, as opposed to digital resilience in the face of organizational change; (2) Share key learnings of research on digital resilience with the IS community; and (3) Discuss key issues and research questions that are important to examine to improve our understanding of digital resilience.
