Description
Digital ventures often introduce to the market offerings that are “ever-incomplete” and “perpetually-in-the-making”. In this research, we ask how the development of a digital market offering of emergent ventures continues after it has initially been launched. Taking a design view on digital entrepreneurship, we studied six emergent digital ventures and how they continuously reenacted and innovated their digital offerings post launch. We identify three key mechanisms that explain their transformative design acts: mobilizing digital resources, architectural amplification, and porting. We detail how they advance our understanding of the role that digital technologies play in changing entrepreneurial processes and outcomes.
