Description

The technological advance led to waves of digitalization which are constantly transforming the business world and our society. Eventually, all businesses will have to undergo this transformation. The emphasis of research, however, is on approaches for larger, focal companies. The entry into the digital age is often very challenging, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) frequently organized in networks. This paper describes the design of a method that is specific for value co-creation of SME networks. To develop our method, we refer to the design science research approach. As evaluation, we conduct a longitudinal single case study in a SME network and present first promising insights from the case. With our current research results, we contribute to the knowledge base in the field of digital transformation (DT) in conjunction with value co-creation and provide a useful artefact for practice.
