Description

As hackers exploits proliferate the news and popular press, researchers call for more studies examining their culture, characteristics and behaviors. Hence, the goal of this study is to understand the nature of the hacker through their knowledge sharing and withholding behaviors. Using network analysis, social capital theory, and data from hacker forum participants, this study explores how hackers approach knowledge sharing, the patterns of knowledge sharing among hackers, and the type of knowledge shared. We present hypotheses to test patterns of knowledge sharing and withholding behaviors, and preliminary data analysis.
