Description
In this ongoing ethnographic study, we explore how multidisciplinary actors with different occupational identities, skills, language and work practices are organising for digital innovation. To do so, we examine an illustrative example of digital innovation, 3D printing, at a clinical innovation department of a major National Health Service (NHS) hospital in England. Our preliminary findings point to the importance of reconciling between the different occupational identities and practices of the actors involved, as well as how 3D printing is implicated in reconfigurations of the actors’ social boundaries, occupational identities and practices.
