Description
This panel will explore the gap between the ease with which MIS researchers can employ both quantitative and qualitative methods and the difficulty in acquiring the deep methodological knowledge necessary to interpret them. This gap is of concern to our field because editorial teams at our top journals are increasingly expecting more and more sophisticated analyses -- potentially at great expense. Our panelists argue this push by editorial teams may be producing faulty applications of these techniques and/or it may be forcing out of the review process papers with great potential contributions.
