Abstract
Despite ongoing review and critique, MIS implementation research continues to yield inconclusive findings. This paper reviews a field study of the implementation of CASE tools to illustrate how the prevailing research paradigm contributes to equivocal results and to demonstrate the value of combining qualitative and quantitative research methods and using multiple levels of analysis.
