Abstract
The rapid development of generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) has attracted widespread attention regarding its application and impact in the field of higher education. Currently, universities worldwide have not yet reached a unified stance on GenAI, and they lack systematic guidance on college students' use of GenAI. This research employs two methods to explore the impact of GenAI on college students’ studies: a meta-analysis of 30 selected papers and organic data analysis via internet crawling. The results indicate that GenAI plays 5 positive roles and 6 negative roles in college students' usage. This study aims to provide universities with a reference for guiding students to use GenAI correctly.
