Abstract

Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment (CPFR®) is an inter-industry initiative driven by the Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Standards Association (VICS) to improve partnership between manufacturers and distributors/retailers through the exchange of information. This paper examines the assessment, communication, and reconciliation of forecast errors under CPFR®. A basic spreadsheet program is used to demonstrate how to facilitate analyses. Instructors can use this exercise to demonstrate examples in the classroom.
