Description
With computer-generated humanlike avatars gaining increasing attention, more debate about whether the audience should or should not be advised about AI usage in content production has been brought up. In this research, we aimed to understand how informing the audience about the use of AI affects the experience. Participants (n = 107) randomly evaluated videos with or without seeing a disclaimer telling that the video had been generated or manipulated by using artificial intelligence. Based on earlier literature, we gathered different measurements about the qualities of the human character seen in the videos. We hypothesized that a disclaimer would mainly affect the experience negatively, but our data doesn’t endorse this.
