Description

Smart technologies play one important role in improving quality of life and fostering sustainable development. This study investigates the factors for smart thermostat adoption, with a specific focus on the policy measures that encourage their adoption. Furthermore, it explores the potential influence of these policies in reducing the adoption gap between urban and rural areas. Through the logistic regression, we identified a positive relationship between the implementation of policies in promoting smart thermostat adoption, and the tax rebate policy was effective in mitigating the urban-rural differences in adoption. The findings of this study contribute to the broader discourse on sustainable urban development, technology diffusion, and equitable socio-economic growth.
