Description
Trust is a much-debated topic in contemporary society and related to emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence. However, we have little empirical insights on how trust within an organization is affected by AI. In this paper, we analyze how different organizational stakeholders perceive AI-based service trustworthiness. Based on a qualitative case study we find that their trust-related perceptions vary meaningfully across participants and propose that the explaining mechanisms could be information asymmetry and the availability of prior background knowledge. Our findings contribute to the understanding of different stakeholder trust perceptions and expectations and have important implications for research on organizational trust and AI service development practices.
