Abstract

This paper explores the Indian agritech space and technologies. The research inquires, “How do Indian agritechs support farmers and farming ecosystem?” To address this question, we aim to map out and create a taxonomy by an inductively developed framework for the agritechs. We have identified 45 agritechs and illustrated a taxonomy by cross-tabulating the farm-life cycle and macro problem areas on which agritechs work. The macro problem areas identified are knowledge-network enablement, decision support information, market access enablers, finance provision, and infrastructural services. The demonstrated taxonomy clearly explains agritech space, their work areas, and the technologies implemented.
