Abstract
Twin transformation, the integration of digital and sustainability transitions, emerges as a vital solution for organisations addressing dynamic market and regulatory challenges. Despite its potential, the process is fraught with complexities, particularly in filtering and prioritising the capabilities and strategies essential for balancing digital innovation and sustainability goals. This study leverages the mindsponge theory to explore how organisations dynamically absorb, evaluate, and integrate information while discarding misaligned practices. Using a case study of a Taiwanese bank, we analyse its strategies for implementing twin transformation, including fostering green finance, integrating AI-driven solutions, and enhancing stakeholder collaboration. Data from interviews, observations, and archival records inform a thematic analysis to construct a framework for optimising organisational adaptability. Our findings emphasise actionable organisational insights, offering practical guidance for decision-makers and practitioners to foster long-term resilience and drive innovation throughout the twin transformation process.
