Abstract
This paper aims to understand how Business Intelligence (BI) tools are used in the organizational environment in order to support the decision-making process. In this line of reasoning, the research method adopted was the single and exploratory Case Study undertaken in a financial company. The data analysis conducted in this research was based on the framework proposed by Keen & Scott-Morton (1978) and on identifying the support of BI tools in each step of decision-making process. The results presented in this paper demonstrate that BI tools do not support all steps of the decision-making process and there are differences in the way how BI tools support these processes at different hierarchical levels.
