Abstract

The main objective of this research is to analyse the relationship between job satisfaction (JS) and organisational performance (OP), considering corporate social responsibility (CSR) as a moderating variable in Tunisian SMEs. Based on 180 respondents from 79 Tunisian SMEs, statistical and econometric analyses were conducted using SPSS-23. The findings reveal a strong link between JS and OP, particularly in SMEs with higher levels of technological orientation, innovation, organisational agility, and learning, which foster adaptation to uncertain environments. However, CSR as a moderator showed a mixed effect on the JS–OP relationship. More specifically, the limited impact of CSR behaviour adoption, combined with the absence of participative leadership, tends to weaken this relationship. This study also opens avenues for future research, notably the challenges of resistance to change and the development of learning models adapted to the era of digitalisation, knowledge, and CSR.
