Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic brought new challenges and demands to individuals and organizations, implying profound changes in society as we knew it. The Information Technology (IT) sector was not immune to these changes. It was necessary to adapt quickly to new circumstances, for example, concerning the modalities for carrying out the work. Several research works seek to analyze the sudden adoption of remote work, focusing mainly on social and human factors. However, other factors should be considered, including methodological, organizational, and regulatory factors. This article presents a reflection on the challenges of remote work and the impact of its sudden adoption in the context of IT implantation projects, identifying research opportunities for the future.
