Abstract

Implementing artificial intelligence in public administration is not only a technological challenge but also a psychosocial one, involving digital well-being, perceived agency, and employees’ readiness to act responsibly. This study examined how work-related behavior and experience patterns, measured with the AVEM questionnaire, are associated with AI-related motivation, including openness to AI, perceived development barriers, and intentions to act. Data were analyzed from 96 employees of the Wrocław branch of the Polish Social Insurance Institution (ZUS). The results show that the sample reported relatively high openness to AI and readiness to act, while also recognizing organizational barriers. Correlation and regression analyses indicated that work-related coping characteristics, especially resistance to resignation, were significantly associated with openness to AI. Generalized anxiety was negatively related to openness and perceived barriers. The findings suggest that effective AI implementation in the public sector should combine technological training with strengthening occupational resilience and employees’ digital well-being.
