Digital Innovation in organizations not only brings so many opportunities but also unintended consequences like security concerns as digital innovation opens new opportunities for cyber-attacks. Moreover, as the landscape of security concerns continues to evolve, organizations are striving to mitigate the security concerns or risks proactively. To ensure proactiveness in mitigating security concerns and expediting digital innovation, security awareness in the form of threat awareness and countermeasure awareness acts like a torch bearer as it can help organizations to successfully mitigate security risks. From this point of view, this study aims to investigate the interplay between security awareness and digital innovation. Furthermore, this study also plans to examine the moderating effect of executive IT expertise on the relationship between security awareness and digital innovation.
