Description

The importance of Information technology (IT) governance in the age where IT sourcing solutions are complex and IT security and privacy are of paramount importance is emphasized in the literature. However, the review of the IT governance literature reveals that although a significant number of articles exist to inform various IT governance issues, the body of knowledge is disparate and fragmented. In order to assist organizations in governing IT appropriately to achieve higher business value, the current knowledge in this area needs to be integrated and unified to provide a more comprehensive and holistic view of this phenomenon. To that end, we develop a comprehensive IT governance framework that is grounded in theory. We believe the result of the current paper will contribute to information systems by developing a comprehensive IT governance framework that could be a foundation for future progress in understanding the conduct of IT governance.
