Description

Global IT (Information Technology) trends research has demonstrated the steady increase in IT’s role in organizational competitiveness for decades. Many thought leaders suggest that we are in the midst of a digital transformation where every company is becoming an IT company. With the coronavirus pandemic, IT has become even more essential, as employees around the globe have been working from their homes, where they are totally dependent on IT. As vaccines are distributed, and the end of the pandemic is in sight, looking forward, executives are proceeding cautiously as economies and offices reopen and expand. It is thus important to anticipate the changes that will be experienced by society, industry, and IT. The purpose of this paper is to explore the impact that coronavirus is having (and will have) on IT investments and technologies and examine the implications and insights for the post-pandemic era.
