Description
The risk of insider threats grows with the size of the organization and the nature of the data that may be exposed. One such risk is the use of personal Internet to circumvent blocks on enterprise Internet access when the user has a legitimate reason to access the restricted site. In this paper we present a model to evaluate the impact risk perception has on the selection of personal or enterprise provided devices to conduct work related tasks as well as an instrument and indicators for measuring the components of the model. The instrument is validated using a sample of 240 members of the US intelligence community. Future research avenues are also discussed.
