Abstract

This paper describes a research in progress work, which is the second phase of a larger study. It aims at finding out about the impact that. belonging to a generation, may have on the design of effective interfaces for commercial mobile applications. A model derived during the first phase of the study is being extended to include two additional generational groups to what was originally done. Additionally, a validation process is proposed with a quasi-experimental design, manipulating the main factors in the model across the experimental groups. It is expected that the validated model will serve as a basis to guide the design of mobile interfaces based on the target groups. Expected results are discussed, and the real ones will be presented at the conference.

The Influence of Generational Differences on Mobile Applications' Design: A Mexican Study
