Abstract

Increasing complexity and global nature of supply chains is driving greater demand for reliability, end-to-end transparency and traceability of transactions, in a very timely manner. A new IT innovation – blockchain - is finding use in addressing the aforementioned challenges of supply chains. Our research proposes to investigate the adoption of blockchain technology in supply chains using the Twitter data. More and more companies are using Twitter to communicate about their products and supply chain innovations. These tweets can provide rich insights into the adoption and diffusion behavior of entities in supply chains. Our model identifies key characteristics important for successful blockchain adoption in supply chains and proposes a novel approach of mining Twitter data to test our model.
