Description

Instructors continually seek new, innovative approaches to engage students in the classroom. With the widespread availability of tablet technology, instructors now have a new tool to utilize during classroom instruction. Our paper is an exploratory study to understand not only the impacts of bringing this technology into the class, but how a student's learning style may impact tablet effectiveness. We find that incorporating the tablet into various classroom tasks can impact a student's learning experience as well as their preference for continued use by the instructor. Furthermore, these impacts vary depending on a student's learning style. Implications are discussed as well as how this research is being expanded further.
