Abstract
Information and communication technogies have led to dynamic changes in the way courts of law perform thier duty to deliver justice. However, managing case files electronically relies on a number of IT related factors and requirements that need to be addressed and met and integrated into the overall business process of courts of law. Electronic court records mangement system not only requires a development of a strong IT policies and involvement of qualified legal information professionals, but also needs stable IT infrastructure and consistent commitment of legal practitioners and IT professionals to establish a credible electronic court records mangement system. This paper focuses on issues and requirement in the implementaion of electronic courts. It brings forward Malaysian experience in the effort of expediating the case mangement through application of technologies. It addresses issues and challenges faced during its implementation and provides appreciation of how effectively technology helps courts bestow speedy justice.
