Abstract
This study investigates decision support systems (DSS) in a simulated healthcare setting and assesses the factors thatenhance DSS perceived effectiveness and their impact on company performance. Our analysis shows that perceivedsystem effectiveness correlates to improved company performance. However, investing significant human resourcesin developing a system does not necessarily guarantee enhanced performance. The findings, consistent with previousempirical studies, strengthen the validity of the simulation exercise as a useful tool for measuring DSS perceivedeffectiveness.
