Abstract
Over the years there has been much published on business-IT alignment and the benefits of alignment and how to achieve it. However, according to newer publications on the topic, the information out there is not clear enough. This paper takes a stance on the nature of alignment and declares it as a state, then provides a series of advice on how to achieve alignment through organizational IT practices. The paper also presents a grid that can be used to understand the different degrees of alignment and the alignment levels within an organization.
