Abstract
New technology offers the promise of transferring knowledge within organizations. While the technology is new, ideas about the knowledge itself and its importance are not. This paper argues that ideas from reference disciplines about knowledge are useful and necessary to successful implementations. In particular it is proposed that information’s warrant be explicitly recognized and considered in designing KMS. Some practical suggestions are offered for accomplishing this.
