Abstract
The adoption of Artificial Intelligence necessitates organizations to incorporate ethical considerations into AI practices. Identifying unethical AI configurations poses a significant challenge that is costly to solve manually. This paper presents an ontology that links ethical values to AI applications. The goal is to promote the ethical use of AI and mitigate the risks associated with biased, or otherwise ethically challenging, AI implementations. The design process was motivated by a literature review to select exemplary ethical AI values and expert interviews outlining the connections between AI applications, values, and mitigation steps. The results show how ethical values as input for neural models using ontological concepts can be used to assess potential problems in a prototypical recommender system.
