Abstract

Digital nomadism has emerged as a distinct phenomenon that blends professional activity with a mobile lifestyle. Unlike traditional remote workers, digital nomads integrate work, travel, and personal development, which presents unique opportunities and challenges. The increasing integration of artificial intelligence into work practices has the potential to transform how digital nomads organise their professional tasks, maintain social connections, and sustain well-being. Yet, limited research has examined this intersection. Through a focused literature search, we identified digital nomads' key opportunities and challenges and developed a conceptual framework that categorises their experiences into three domains: work, lifestyle, and leisure. The findings from this review suggest that while AI tools can enhance productivity, personalised learning, and global connectivity, they also raise concerns around privacy, bias, dependency, and regulatory uncertainty. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of how AI can support digital nomads' productivity and quality of life.
