Abstract
Technology has been used to enhance individual productivity and collaboration in knowledge management (KM). Previous studies suggest that the availability of technological tools can also overwhelm and negatively impact individuals’ cognitive abilities. The literature on the impact of technology on cognitive abilities is fragmented and lacks a coherent theoretical perspective. Such a theoretical perspective is necessary for developing actionable guidance for optimizing the use of technology in KM. Conducting a systematic literature review using grounded theory coding technique, this study investigates the benefits and challenges of technology for KM to enhance theoretical perspective of the subject. This research in progress paper also discusses future research based on the findings of the current study.
