Abstract

With the implementation of Generative AI in education, many studies have been conducted and myriads of advantages and challenges were reported. While acknowledging the benefits, it is equally important to investigate the potential impact of integrating this technology on the well-being of all stakeholders, primarily educators, who stand in the frontline, and shoulder the responsibility of using, and enabling students to use, these technologies in a safe and ethical manner. This study aimed to explore how the integration of GenAI in higher education impacts educators’ well-being. It also aimed to develop a preliminary conceptual framework to identify and understand the underlying factors contributing to this impact. Following a five-stage approach of conducting a scoping review, findings were discussed, main factors were drawn from the literature, and the conceptual framework was developed. The research sets the foundation for further empirical investigations and provides important insights for relevant stakeholders for policy formulation.
