Abstract
Digital innovations have transformed the way organizations design processes, execute tasks, and deliver value to their customers. Consequently, there is a strong call for using digital technologies for common good amidst the digital transformation landscape. “Benevolence” is a concept that embodies the notion of human centricity, defined as “doing good” to others. Though benevolence has been extensively explored within psychological and non-profit contexts, there is a dearth of studies concerning its application within for-profit organizations. Amid the ongoing challenge of balancing ethical responsibility with profitability, integrating benevolence into business operations presents a significant opportunity to advance the agenda of responsible enterprises. Moreover, as technology becomes increasingly integral to business processes, it is essential to explore how benevolent practices can be amplified through technological advancements, a novel and emerging phenomenon. Hence, this study proposes an overarching conceptual framework to describe how technology can be used as an enabler for corporate benevolence.
