Abstract

In this short paper I in brief discuss the suitability of the problematization research approach for information systems (IS) research and how problematization-based research can be published. Problematization has long been promoted in management science and recently also in the IS discipline. Instances of its application are however scarce. The paper revisits the fundamental tenets of the approach and contrasts them and the challenges they pose to the conventional doctrine of performing IS research as well as crafting and evaluating resulting scholarly manuscripts.
