Abstract
Micro-investing is a new and upcoming investment opportunity. Though much is known about the micro-investing scene internationally, there is little information about this from the New Zealand context. In this research-in-progress paper the characteristics of New Zealand micro-investors are examined. Specifically, focus is placed on the socio-demographics and psychographic characteristics of New Zealand micro-investors. In addition, external influences are also examined for their impact on micro-investing decisions. Data will be collected using semi-structured interviews. Results will be analysed qualitatively. Results from this research study will provide insights in developing a broad New Zealand based micro-investor profile.
