Abstract
The great social, political, economic and scientific/technological changes require the creation of strategies and public policy that promote the equal participation of the population of the new knowledge society. This is the motivation of this research. The objective is to generate information that that allow us to analyze the digital divide regarding gender in the state of Aguascalientes, Mexico. A structured questionnaire was applied randomly to 1,447 individuals using stratified sampling. According to the results, it shows that women feel more competent tan men using information technology. There are several differences statistically significant between women and men; in general, women feel more comfortable using information technology than men.
