Abstract

This research aims at analyzing the relationship between the Information Technology (IT) outsourcing and IT strategic alignment in organizations. The research method used was a multiple case study. This is an exploratory study and comprises two large companies that operate in different industries, with business and operations in the Brazilian market. Data were collected between 2010 and 2011 through interviews. It was possible to analyze the data collected using strategic alignment models and outsourcing models. The results showed that different perspectives of IT strategic alignment may be associated with different outsourcing strategies.
