Description

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a transformative technology that enables significant organisational improvements and creates new business opportunities. As digitalisation is crucial for competitive advantage and organisational agility, firms are prioritising AI adoption. However, adoption of AI alone cannot ensure a competitive edge and assessing the organisational AI readiness is an essential first step for successful digital transformation. Evaluating an organisation’s readiness to use AI effectively and responsibly encourages adoption. Successful AI adoption requires alignment across the entire organisation, including people, infrastructure, and strategy. In this article, we present a framework based on dynamic capabilities and organisational ambidexterity which provides a backbone to create comprehensive and holistic view of AI preparedness of the organisation and guide targeted improvement efforts within it. It will act as a springboard for future research and help organisations comprehensively understand their AI readiness for informed decisions and foster sustainable and innovative practices through effective change management.
