Abstract
Although primarily a problem of the under-developed and developing countries, unemployment is a problem for every country of the world. Apart from the specific problems peculiar to individual countries there are common reasons and causes for unemployment and the purpose of this paper is to discuss a negative aspect of the socio-economic reasons, called the information gap (INFOGAP). In order to better understand and analyse these reasons a model is proposed, designed to show how and in what way efforts can be coordinated to close the gap, especially in developing and under-developed countries. The means suggested are information technology (IT) and IT education.
