Abstract
A developing country that has just celebrated its sixth year of majority rule is Zimbabwe, situated to the south east of Central Africa, between the Zambezi and Limpopo rivers. It is bounded by Zambia to the north-west and north, by Mozambique to the northeast and east, by South Africa to the south and by Botswana to the south-west. Zimbabwe lies wholly to the north of the tropic of Capricorn and is part of the great plateau which is a major feature of the geography of Southern Africa.
